The coverage contains 1992 vegetation polygons representing GCES monitoring sites.
These data were developed by Dr. G. Waring Northern AZ. University for use in the study
of current and historical riparian vegetation trends in the Grand Canyon. These data were
delineated from 1:4,800 scale color photos flown on Oct. 12 1992. The flow of the Colorado
River during photo acquistion was 8,000 CFS. These data were further edited by J. B. Sankey to only include polygons mapped by G. Waring with > 60 % vegetation canopy cover.
