Table 5. Taxonomic variation in iris colour, scored with two levels (brown vs. white, see text) in a sample of C. [fuscater] study skins and digital photos (N = 340). Populations in which brown irides were detected in <20% of specimens were categorized as ‘monochromatic white’ (mono white). Populations in which white irides were detected in <20% of specimens were categorized as ‘monochromatic brown’ (mono brown). Populations in which brown and white irides were both detected at greater than 20% frequency are categorized as ‘dichromatic’.
