Comparison between a mouse line selected for high voluntary wheel running and control line in two brain regions, cerebellum and striatum

The goals of this study were: 1) to compare the transcriptome of a mouse line selected for high voluntary wheel running and a control line, and 2) evaluate the differences in the cerebellum and in the striatum. At approximately 6 weeks of age, male mice from the selected and control lines were individually place in cages including a running wheel. Brain samples were collected after 7 days. Paired-end RNA sequencing was used to profile individual cerebellum and striatum samples.
本研究旨在实现以下两项目标:1)对比经选育的高自主转轮奔跑小鼠品系与对照品系的转录组(transcriptome);2)解析二者小脑(cerebellum)与纹状体(striatum)的基因表达差异。于小鼠约6周龄时,将上述选育品系与对照品系的雄性小鼠单独安置于配备运动转轮的饲养笼中。饲养7天后采集脑组织样本。采用双端RNA测序(Paired-end RNA sequencing)技术,对单只小鼠的小脑与纹状体样本进行转录组特征分析。
