Fallout radionuclide activities and inventories in the area affected by the 2017 wildfire in Kamaishi (Iwate Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Japan)

This dataset has been generated to investigate the potential occurrence of radioactive fallout following the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident that took place in March 2011 in soil profiles collected in burned and unburned soil profiles located in the area affected by wildfires in 2017 in Kamaishi (Iwate Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Japan). Soil bulk density was determined with the entire oven-dry mass of successive soil core samples collected every 5-cm increments divided by the volume of the coring device. Fallout radionuclides were analysed using low-background Germanium HypePure detectors.
