The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Venue location coordinates were provided by the Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business & the Commonwealth Games, and were verified or corrected using the QLD Globe 17/09/2014. Using the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDIP) and Gold Coast (GC2018) websites the Major upgrade locations and boundaries were identified. The following websites were used to verify and correct any point locations:
The following document was also used to verify the layout of the Carrara Sports Leisure Centre, Coomera Sports and Leisure Centre & Queensland Velodrome: "2018 Gold Coast City Candidate CityFile: Block Plans"
This dataset is used in conjunction with other datasets in The Cube Globe G20 visualisation project. This project provides information on construction through case studies of innovation in infrastructure, including the venues for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
