This project collected gut samples from Tuta absoluta fed on three different host plants (tomato, potato, and eggplant) and subjected to host switching. Using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, it aims to elucidate how the gut microbial community structure responds to these dietary changes. The study seeks to uncover the role of the gut microbiota in the pest's host adaptation, thereby providing a microbiological basis for understanding its outbreak mechanisms and developing novel control strategies.
