Green Alder Stem Maps from Western Arctic, Inuvik Region

There is substantial evidence that the capacity of an individual shrub patch to capture snow is directly related to its structure and that the preferential accumulation of snow in a patch has the potential to change the internal dynamics and potential for infilling. These maps were created to study the spatial distribution and size structure of alder individuals within patches and to relate this distribution with environmental conditions within the patch.
