Off-host egg production capacity of Ascaridia galli

This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Off-host egg production capacity of Ascaridia galli.” It contains the raw data used to evaluate egg release by mature female A. galli during short-term off-host incubation and the number of uterine eggs remaining after incubation. Seventy mature female worms were allocated to 14 batches of five worms. Seven batches were processed immediately for uterine egg recovery, while seven matched batches were incubated in phosphate-buffered saline at 40 °C for 48 h. Eggs released during the first and second 24-h periods were quantified separately, after which the remaining uterine eggs were recovered from the incubated worms. The dataset includes batch-level and per-female egg counts, calculated proportions of daily and total egg release, worm-length measurements, and source-hen information used for matching the crushed and incubated worm batches.
