资源简介:
The dataset consists of 2,989 ASCII text files each of which contains smart meter data from a single domestic consumer in Ireland. Each file has 4 columns as follows:Read Value is a real number indicating in kWh the amount of electricity used or uploaded to the grid, over a 30-minute timespan.Read Type is either "Active Import", indicating the amount of energy in column 1 is downloaded from the grid, or "Active Export" indicating the amount of energy in column 1 is uploaded to the grid which is typically a surplus from microgeneration. A consumer can have both non-zero import and non-zero export within the same 30-minute timespan.Read Date and End Time corresponds to the end of the 30-minute timespan.MPRN is a proxy representation of the user ID, a numberThe data in most files are contiguous and uninterrupted and the majority are almost exactly 2 years in timespan. Where there are gaps in the coverage this is caused by a loss of electricity to the household caused by a storm or other outage. There are a good number of outages for Storm Eowyn in January 2025, for example. The data was collected from users who downloaded their smart meter usage data from their personal accounts on https://www.esbnetworks.ie/ and then uploaded that data to https://elec-tariffs.ie/ which is our system, which calculated their tariffs from more than 60 tariffs on offer in the Irish domestic energy marketplace. As part of the terms and conditions for use of elec-tariffs.ie, users agree that anonymised versions of their smart meter data can be made public and used for further research, which is what we are doing here.Elec-tariffs.ie, operated by Dublin City University, is a not-for-profit initiative that allows consumers in Ireland to share data on energy tariffs and usage. It is the first organisation to be registered under the EU’s Data Governance Act as a Data Altruism Organisation. There is a cap of 2 years on the size of the smart meter data which users can download from ESB Networks which is why many of the files in this dataset are exactly 24 months in timespan. For those files less than 24 months, that corresponds to users who had a smart meter for less than 2 years when they shared their data with us. For files greater than 24 months we merged all uploads from the same user (identified by their unique meter number) and removed duplicate entries.
