A TaqMan Probe-based quadruplex Real-Time PCR for simultaneous detection of human parainfluenza viruses 1, 2, and 3, and a universal Parainfluenza virus target

This repository contains the data supporting the study “A TaqMan Probe-based quadruplex Real-Time PCR for simultaneous detection of human parainfluenza viruses 1, 2, and 3, and a universal Parainfluenza virus target.” The study developed and validated a single-tube quadruplex TaqMan qPCR assay for simultaneous detection of HPIV-1, HPIV-2, HPIV-3, and a universal parainfluenza virus target (PIV-ALL).The dataset includes raw qPCR results, source data for figures, and supplementary tables related to primer/probe design, assay optimization, analytical sensitivity, and validation. The assay supports both type-specific detection and broad-spectrum screening of parainfluenza viruses. The limits of detection were 20 copies/μL for HPIV-1, 100 copies/μL for HPIV-2, 50 copies/μL for HPIV-3, and 50 copies/μL for PIV-ALL. These data may be used to reproduce the analyses and figures reported in the associated manuscript and to support further methodological or surveillance-related research on human and animal parainfluenza viruses.
