**Description**
Standstill events data provides insights into where and for how long vehicles remain stationary. This data helps analyze stop locations and durations, offering valuable context for traffic and mobility trends.
**Data Source**
The data is sourced by millions of vehicles globally from our vetted partners including:
- Automotive OEMs; vehicles with embedded connectivity from the car manufacturer
- Fleets with after-sales in-vehicle hardware telematics devices
**Use Cases**
Standstill events data becomes even more powerful when combined with Probe Data, allowing for a deeper understanding of trip patterns, traffic volumes, and stop durations. Key applications include:
- Site-selection: Identify optimal locations for retail store expansions and EV charging station deployments based on vehicle stop frequency and dwell times.
- Route Planning: Companies with large vehicle fleets (e.g. transportation companies) use this data to optimise routes, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Transportation analytics: Traffic consultants, road operators, municipalities and SaaS analytics platforms use our data for understanding road safety, road usage, people movement and performing targeted before & after analytics to assess infrastructure and signage changes.

**Historicity**
Historical data availability as of 2022. Availability differs per country.
**Geographical granularity**
Data can be delivered on the following geographical levels:
- Custom polygon area
- Specific road segment
**Vehicle Types**
The following vehicle types area available in the datasets (availability varies per country):
- Passenger car
- Light commercial vehicle (LCV). This is a van type of vehicle. Examples: (Renault Master, Renault Trafic, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Peugeot Boxer, Volkswagen Crafter, Fiat Ducato, Opel Crossland, Citroen Berlingo etc.)
- Heavy truck (more than 3.5 tones)
- Bus
- Other (unclassified)
**Data Anonymisation**
A data anonymisation is applied on the data. Key features include:
- **No Exact Locations:** Rather than providing precise latitude and longitude coordinates, Mobito utilizes the [H3 hexagonal grid system](https://h3geo.org/) to generalize locations.
- **[H3-Resolution-11 Precision:](https://h3geo.org/docs/core-library/restable/#average-area-in-m2)** Each location is mapped to a hexagonal area ensuring privacy while preserving analytical value.
