RNA sequencing of a bacterial coral pathogen (Vibrio coralliilyticus) incubated in coral mucus

A bacterial coral pathogen (Vibrio coralliilyticus BAA-450) was incubated in the mucus of its coral host (Pocillopora damicornis), and RNA sequencing on the pathogen was performed at three time points in triplicates: before exposure to mucus, 10 minutes, and 60 minutes after initiation of incubation with mucus. This study aims to advance our understanding of the mechanisms of pathogenesis by V. coralliilyticus.
