This dataset and associated materials support the manuscript “Global carbon intensity of LNG value chain amid intensifying energy security and climate trade-offs” submitted to Nature. The study presents the first comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions assessment of the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain, covering 85% of global LNG trade in 2022. Data span 2,500 oil and gas fields, over 1,000 gas processing plants, 33 liquefaction terminals, 123 regasification terminals, 1.25 million km of natural gas transmission pipeline, and 948 LNG trade routes. The dataset enables reproduction of carbon intensity estimates (8.0–26 g CO₂eq./MJ), methane loss rates, and route-specific emission profiles. It includes processed field-level emissions data, trade route mapping, and terminal-level attributes used in the analysis. The data can be used to explore links between LNG supply chain emissions, trade patterns, and potential impacts of methane regulations.
