Gridded SSP-RCP land cover data from REMIND-MAgPIE 1.6-3.0

This dataset contains gridded global land cover data at 30 arcmin spatial resolution for various combinations of the shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) and representative concentration pathways (RCPs) from 2005 until 2100 in 5-year timesteps, based on the integrated assessment modelling framework REMIND-MAgPIE 1.6-3.0 (original SSP quantification). Each land cover file contains the following land cover types: Built-up area: Land Cover|Built-up Area Irrigated bioenergy cropland: Land Cover|Cropland|Bio|Irrigated Rainfed bioenergy cropland: Land Cover|Cropland|Bio|Rainfed Irrigated cropland for food and feed: Land Cover|Cropland|FoodFeed|Irrigated Rainfed cropland for food and feed: Land Cover|Cropland|FoodFeed|Rainfed Forest: Land Cover|Forest Other natural land: Land Cover|Other Natural Land Pasture land: Land Cover|Pasture For each grid cell, the global land cover data shows the grid cell share (0-1) allocated for a certain land cover type. The file grid_cell_land_area.nc can be used in combination with the grid cell shares to calculate the land surface area (Mha) per land cover type.
