Heavy metal tolerance in Scopelophila cataractae

We used next-generation sequencing to study DNA methylation (epi-Genotyping by Sequencing) and gene expression (RNA sequencing) changes in plants of the metallophyte moss Scopelophila cataractae experimentally exposed to either Cd or Cu to uncover the molecular basis of phenotypic differentiation for heavy metal tolerance in this species. With this work, we aim to enhance our understanding of the diversity of molecular mechanisms involved in land plants response to stress.
