Listed threatened and migratory species habitat enhancement on Christmas Island

The project involves on-ground activities to maintain the ecological integrity of rainforest habitats and Ramsar wetlands for listed species through the control of weeds, yellow crazy ants, feral rats and cats and marine debris. The activities are consistent with the feral cat eradication program under the Threatened Species Strategy, listed species recovery plans and the park management plan. Minor works on two popular non-park walking tracks will help visitors and residents appreciate the island's rainforest habitats. Parks Australia is a key project partner and will actively promote the project to raise community environmental awareness and understanding.
