This dataset contains high-resolution photosynthetic response measurements derived from dynamic A–Ci curves conducted on sun-exposed leaves of Calophyllum inophyllum, a tropical tree species. Measurements were carried out between January and April 2024 in Panama City, Panama, across two contrasting environments: the surrounding urban areas and the indoor facilities of the Tupper Building at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI). The primary aim was to investigate diurnal variation in photosynthetic capacity, specifically, the maximum rate of Rubisco carboxylation (Vcmax) and electron transport (Jmax), and triose phosphate utilization (TPU) between morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) periods.
