Perforatus perforatus complete mitochondrial genome sequencing

The primary objective of this research is to sequence the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of 'Perforatus perforatus', marking the first such endeavor for both the species and its subfamily, Concavinae, within the barnacle order Balanomorpha. Additionally, the study involves conducting phylogenetic analysis within Balanomorpha to gain insights into the evolutionary characteristics of 'P. perforatus' and its related subfamilies. This will lay the groundwork for future population-level studies aimed at elucidating the species' expansion traits. Overall, this research significantly contributes to our understanding of the dispersal mechanisms of marine invasive species, and their evolutionary and expansion dynamics within marine ecosystems
