Potential for wind turbines in the Northwest Territories

Data is being hosted here as the original data is in an unsuitable format to allow for an automated pipeline from data provider to usage by the anthropogenic disturbance model for the Northwest Territories. INFORMATION ABOUT DATA DOWNLOAD FROM ORIGINAL SOURCE: To access the layers, one needs to register at wind atlas (https://windatlas.ca/maps-en.php). Then, you need to manually download the correct tiles corresponding to the areas of interest. For NT1, I downloaded the following tiles: 74, 75, 84, 87, 95, 96, 105, 106, 107, 117. The format then needs to be converted. I unzipped the MIF and MID files from the ANU folder (annual) and used R to load, reproject, crop and mosaic the layers. See script checkingData.R. The layers hosted here are the individual tiles (MIF&MID) that were extracted from ANU folder.
