China is by far the leading country of destination for iron ore exports from Brazil. In 2023, the East Asian country accounted for over 64 percent of total Brazilian iron ore shipments. Malaysia followed in second, but by a wide margin, representing some 5.7 percent of Brazil's exports. That year, iron ore exports from Brazil surpassed 30 billion U.S. dollars.
