This dataset contains data on snow nitrate concentrations and its isotopes in the snow pit collected at Dome A. Concentrations of nitrate in snow are determined by the ion chromatograph, while the isotopes are analyzed with the denitrifier method at East China Normal University Environmental Stable Isotope Laboratory (ECNU-ESIL). The replicate determinations of nitrate concentrations (n=5) show that one relative standard deviation (1σ) was <5%, while the precision of the isotope analysis (one pooled standard deviation of 0.6‰ for δ15N, 0.3‰ for δ18O, and 0.9‰ for Δ17O) is less than 1 per mil. In addition, a model that simulates nitrate burial, photolytic fractionation, and re-oxidation in snow to quantitatively assess these processes was also inlcuded.
