Sample vocalization data for four marine mammal species from passive acoustic recordings in the northern Gulf of Mexico, 2015

The dataset contains subsampled data of calls from Cuvier's beaked whales, bottlenose dolphins, Risso's dolphins, and sperm whales from Buoy 1 (28° 39.0219’ N, 88° 31.5006’ W North site) and Buoy 2 (28° 25.2810’ N, 88° 37.1121’ W South site) between July 12 and September 30, 2015 by the LADC-GEMM consortium. The data are amplitude (voltage) measurements of marine mammals in the northern Gulf of Mexico as a function of time. They were used in an outreach program to train students in acoustic analysis; the code is located in dataset R4.x261.000:0012. The dataset also includes a ReadMe file with the filename and timestamp of the location of the data in the original raw file.
