The Mediating Role of Energy Consumption in the Impact of Thermal Environment Change on Carbon Emissions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China

This repository contains the replication materials for the study “The Mediating Role of Energy Consumption in the Impact of Thermal Environment Change on Carbon Emissions: Evidence from the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China.” The package includes: Processed city-level panel dataset (2000–2022) for the Yangtze River Economic Belt, including CO₂ emissions, thermal environment areas, and all explanatory variables used in the empirical analysis. Clipped CLCD data, MOD11A2(LST), and ODIAC rasters for the YREB region. Replication code (Stata scripts) capable of reproducing all tables and main results reported in the manuscript. Variable definitions, model formulas, and a code–main text correspondence document that maps each key result in the paper to the relevant sections of the code. Due to the large file size, the replication package is provided as a multi-part compressed archive; all parts are required for successful extraction. These materials are provided to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and compliance with the journal’s data availability and GFA requirements.
