## **Abstract** \n\nThis dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. \n\nThe metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details at the time of acquisition.\n\n\n\nThe following data was requested for the SSB region from the NSW Department of Trade and Investment to provide/give access to the following information. \n\nSpatial information (maps, GIS layers, images) showing:\n\n\\*\tThe xyz dimensions of the footprints of underground (i.e. both longwall and bord-and-pillar) mines excavated from 1980 to 2012, updated once every 4-years, in the SSB bioregion. \n\n\\*\tThe xyz dimensions of the footprints of open cut mines excavated from 1980 to 2012, updated once every 4-years, in the SSB bioregion, including details of rehabilitated areas, if available\n\n\\*\tThe z dimension (elevation) relative to sea level, i.e. the AHD reference.\n\nOther information as follows\n\n\\*\tThe company that undertook each excavation\n\n\\*\tFor underground workings, whether longwall or board and pillar mining was used, and if the latter, whether the pillars have been subsequently extracted.\n\n\\*\tMine water discharge volumes between 1980 and 2012, or until mine water pumping ceased, as available.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nNSW Department of Trade and Investment collects this information for monitoring purposes.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nNSW Department of Trade and Investment collects this information for monitoring purposes.\n\nThis dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and is presented here as originally supplied. \n\nThe metadata was not provided by the data supplier and has been compiled by the programme based on known details at the time of acquisition.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nNSW Trade and Investment (2015) SSB Historical Mining Footprints DTIRIS 20150818.
