Data for: Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of the SpiralG Biorefinery
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the life cycle inventory (LCI) datasets and supplementary documents associated with the following two scientific articles: 1) Braud, L., McDonnell, K., & Murphy, F. (2025). Beyond phycocyanin: Environmental life cycle assessment of a European pilot scale Spirulina biorefinery. Bioresource Technology Reports, 29, 102027. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.biteb.2025.102027 2) Braud, L., McDonnell, K., & Murphy, F. (2025). Integrating a pilot scale Spirulina biorefinery into a local bioeconomy: A comparative life cycle assessment of environmental mitigation strategies. Under review. The LCI for the Spirulina biorefinery is based on real pilot-scale data collected between 2019 and 2022 in industrial facilities located in Italy and France, as part of the Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE-JU) project "SpiralG" (https://www.cbe.europa.eu/projects/spiralg), under grant agreement No. 792257. These materials are shared to support the reproducibility of the findings and to enable further research in the field of Spirulina biorefining and life cycle assessment. All materials are shared under the [Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)] licence. The scripts used to perform the two LCA studies are available in the linked GitHub repository: https://github.com/leabrd/spiralgorithm. If you use these materials, please cite the relevant article(s) and this Zenodo repository. ⚠️ Last modifications (october 2025): 1) Corrections in inventory_data_SpiralG.xlsx: Tab "S1_period2": Fixed values for "S1.A1.Cultivation" for four inputs/outputs (monoammonium phosphate production, market for electricity, tap water production, market for waste plastic). Corrected values are highlighted in yellow in the updated file: inventory_data_SpiralG_v2.xlsx. Tab "S3_period2": Corrected the unit for tap water in activity "S3.A2.Diafiltration" from "kWh" to "L" (highlighted in yellow). Note: The corrected values were accurate in the databases used for LCA calculations. The errors in the uploaded files were typographical only and do not affect the results or outcomes of the two case studies. 2) Additions: Added three supplementary documents describing the SpiralG biorefinery, covering data collection to modelling for both scientific articles listed above (these documents were previously uploaded on the GitHub repository).
