This study investigates the molecular interactions of the two cationic surfactants cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC)and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) with a two-dimensional (2D) Langmuir monolayer model and 3D liposome model of the SARS-CoV-2 virus lipid envelope. The model consists of a ternary lipid mixture (DOPC:DMPS:PI 50:35:15), prepared both at the air-water interface and as liposomes and characterized using surface-sensitive techniques including surface potential - area per molecule measurements for monolayers and dynamic light scattering, zeta potential and fluorescence microscopy for liposomes. The dataset contains files (text, csv and tiff files) showing the experimental results included in the publication. Please consult the readme.txt file for additional information and a more detailed description of each csv and tiff file.
