Ustilago Bromivora X Ustilago Hordei Hybridome

The goal of this study was to create a hybrid fungus by mating the closely-related Ustilago bromivora and Ustilago hordei. The hybrid was then backcrossed with Ustilago hordei to create multiple strains having different Ustilago bromivora genome content. These strains were then used to try to understand the factors involved in host specificity of Ustilago bromivora
