DrivAer dataset was developed by Mark Benjamin and Gianluca Iaccarino. It is an open-source geometric model for mid-sized passenger vehicles, designed to evaluate and compare automotive aerodynamics studies conducted using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. This dataset includes three configurations: fastback, estate, and sedan. Each configuration provides sufficient diversity to test the predictive capability of models. The development process of the dataset starts from a small number of initial geometric shapes, and generates more samples through systematic interpolation. These data are mainly applied to shape optimization tasks in the field of automotive aerodynamics, aiming to improve the accuracy and predictive performance of models.
