Metagenome and metagenome-assembled genome predicted gene sequences and their annotations for "Carbohydrates and carbohydrate degradation gene abundance and transcription in Atlantic waters of the Arctic"

This dataset incorporates gene sequences predicted from PacBio HiFi metagenome reads and metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) along with their taxonomic and functional annotations. Eight PacBio HiFi metagenomes were generated from seawater samples collected in the Eastern Fram Strait for the study "Spatial heterogeneity in carbohydrates and their utilisation by microbial communities in the high North Atlantic". See the methods section of the manuscript for details on data processing. Here, we provide the predicted gene sequences from the PacBio HiFi reads and MAGs along with tables that outline the position of the gene on the original read/contig, length, direction of transcription and taxonomic and functional annotation results from numerous databases.
