Deep underground metagenome from mineral spring

The metagenome of a biofilm sample from a deep underground hot mineral spring of the far unused end of the tunnel of Baksan Neutrino Observatory, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia. The site is located under the Andyrchi mountain at a depth of more than 2 km.The aim of the study was to investigate the biodiversity of the deep underground microbial community.
