In the present study, different macroalgal samples from the intertidal regions of Central West coast has been collected. A total of 4 intertidal region (Malwan, Anjuna, Cabo-De-Rama and Kunkeshwar) from 2 states of India (Goa and Maharashtra) has been selected for sampling. From the four intertidal regions, a total of 7 macroalgal samples has been collected (Ulva sp. (Malwan),GA-MAL; Sargassum sp. (Malwan), MBA; Amphiroa sp. (Malwan), MRA; Sargassum sp. (Anjuna), LLAB; Dictyota sp. (Anjuna), SAB; Padina sp. (Cabo-De-Rama), CDR-SL and Sargassum sp. (Kunkeshwar), LLKUN). After their collection, total community DNA of the epiphytic bacteria has been isolated using FAST prep DNA isolation kit and subjected to amplicon sequencing of V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA gene using Illumina paired end sequencing. The present metagenomic study will shed light on the unique environment and the community composition of the microbes as per macroalgal samples. Metagenomics study will also unravel the specific function of the microbial community composition on different algal samples and their ecological relevance with respect to nutrient cycling.
