Mast cells play an important role in allergic diseases. The genus Garcinia of the family Guttiferae is well known as a prolific source of polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols and bioactive prenylated xanthones, which exhibit various biological activities. Gaudichaudione H (GH) is n novel compound isolated from the leaves of Garcinia oligantha Merr. (Clusiaceae), and the anti-allergic effect of GH has not yet been investigated.
