Internal Revenue Service Personnel Extract, 2003-2006

<p>This file contains information on IRS employees who have been in positions in the following pay plans since January 1, 2003: SES, Senior Executive Service and IR, IRS Broadband Classification and Pay System Positions. These files were obtained from the United States Internal Revenue Service Disclosure Office 3 in October 2006. They were sent in response to a Freedom of Information Act request (control number 03-2006-01084) submitted on behalf of a Cornell graduate student in support of his research. The request was submitted by CISER in August 2006. According to Janice Rudolph, Tax Law Specialist, the following six items regarding personnel can be disclosed under FOIA: name; present and past position titles and occupational series; present and past grades of employee; present and past annual salary rates; present and past duty stations; and present and past position descriptions. Note: Unfortunately, no documentation was provided with the original comma-delimited file. It is provided as received from the IRS. Although the data archive maintains a paper file of correspondence related to acquisition of this information, CISER staff can provide limited support for its use.</p>
