资源简介:
Coral reef ecosystems ecologically, economically, and culturally valuable, providing habitats for at least a quarter of known marine species. However, coral reefs are threatened by climate change, environmental pollution, and human activity worldwide, with nearly half of them experiencing severe degradation. Tolerance of the block-shaped coral species to environmental disturbances is significantly higher than that of the thermosensitive branched/leaf-shaped coral species. For example, Platygyra, which is clumped and widely distributed throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans, shows environmental adaptability and is the dominant coral species in some regions. However, research on the environmental adaptation mechanisms of Platygyra is lacking, and our understanding of the genus is constrained by the amount of genomic information available. The genome of Platygyra sinensis, which was not previously annotated in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database, was the focus of this study. Using an available sequence, we annotated repeat sequences, predicted gene structure, and performed a gene ontology analysis.
