资源简介:
The Mexican wolf (Canis lupus baileyi), also known as the lobo mexicano (or, simply, lobo) is a subspecies of gray wolf (C. lupus) native to eastern and southeastern Arizona and western and southern New Mexico in the United States and fragmented areas of northern Mexico (from Wikipedia entry). This is a sample of cells cultured from a 4mm skin and ear biopsy from a adult male individual at the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri. The sample was collected on February 13 2023, cells culture was completed on September 9 2023, and one tube of cells was expanded on April 4 2023 for the reference genome. The sample was collected by Michael Warshaw and procured by Sanaz Arenivas of ViaGen Pets, and coordinated by Ben Novak and Jackie Mountcastle of Revive & Restore to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
