This research focuses on the role of earthworms in soil bacteria in peatlands that may be invaded by earthworms because of climate warming and anthropogenic drainage. More specifically, this study looks into the separate effects of earthworm presence itself, earthworm casts and mucus, on bacterial composition, diversity, structure and functions of peat soil.
