Climate Dataset for UNESCO World Heritage Sites

<b>Dataset Description</b>This dataset provides site-specific climate records for UNESCO World Heritage sites globally, derived from ERA5 reanalysis and CMIP6 climate projections. For each heritage site, hourly temperature and relative humidity values were extracted by matching the site's geographic coordinates to gridded climate data at a spatial resolution of 0.1° × 0.1°.The dataset covers three time periods:<b>Historical baseline (1961–1991):</b> Climate conditions from ERA5 used for long-term comparisons.<b>Contemporary climate (2010–2040):</b> Reflects recent warming trends; based on ERA5 for 2010–2024 and CMIP6 for 2025–2040.<b>Future projections (2070–2100):</b> Based on two Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP1–2.6 and SSP2–4.5) from CMIP6, representing mitigation and intermediate scenarios.These data support the analysis of compound climate events (CEs) and the assessment of climate-related risks to cultural heritage conservation. The dataset enables comparative studies of climate stress across historical, current, and plausible future conditions.
