Monthly terrestrial ecosystem CO2 and CH4 fluxes simulated by VISIT, 1901-2016

Land-atmosphere exchange of CO2 and CH4 was simulated with a process-based terrestrial ecosystem model, VISIT. Global simulation data from January 2000 to November 2023 are provided for public use. The model was driven by CRU TS4.08 climate data and LUH2-GCB2024 land use data. Net biome production (NBP) represents net CO2 budget of terrestrial ecosystems including photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, biomass burning, land-use emission, and other carbon gas emissions. CH4 emissions from wetland was simulated using the Walter-Heimann scheme.
