This dataset supports the manuscript “Precipitation Regimes Reshape Grazing and Nitrogen Effects on Diversity–Productivity Coupling in Arid Steppes: Mechanisms and Thresholds” submitted to Earth’s Future (Manuscript ID: 2025EF007558). The repository contains plot-level observations from a 3-year field experiment (2022–2024) nested within a long-term grazing trial on the Loess Plateau, China. The study used a factorial design with grazing intensity (UG, LG, MG, HG) and nitrogen addition (N0, N10) under contrasting precipitation regimes (wet, dry, and normal).The archive includes: (i) plot level vegetation and soil measurements used in the analyses (e.g., species richness SR, ANPP, soil moisture, bulk density, SOC, TN, NH4 plus N, NO3 minus N), (ii) an annual precipitation time series (1981–2024) used for precipitation classification, (iii) minimal R scripts to reproduce the main statistical analyses and derived indices (including DI), and (iv) a README describing files, variables, and how to run the code.This item is intended for peer review access and will be made public upon acceptance.
