The xBD dataset is the first publicly available building damage assessment dataset, and it is one of the largest and highest-quality annotated high-resolution satellite imagery datasets to date. It contains 22,068 high-resolution satellite remote sensing images, all with a resolution of 1024×1024. These images are labeled with 19 distinct types of disaster events, including earthquakes, floods, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, vehicle collisions, and others. The dataset includes both pre-disaster and post-disaster imagery, which can be used to develop models for two key tasks: building localization and damage assessment.
