It is unclear how neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) impacts the evolution of circulating or tumor-infiltrating immune cells over time in breast cancer. To address this question, we performed single cell transcriptome sequencing of tumor tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) collected during NACT. In addition, we observed the intratumor heterogeneity of tumor cells, diversity of immune and stromal cells and complexity of cell-cell interactions in primary tumors.
