Digital Archive from Archaeological Evaluation at Camp Poultry Farm, Mill Lane, Hatfield Heath, Essex, October - November 2024

This collection contains text documents, images, vector graphics, and site records from an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust at Camp Poultry Farm, Mill Lane, Hatfield Heath, Essex, between 31 October and 1 November 2024. The investigation was conducted in advance of planned construction work on the site and the evaluation comprised twelve trial trenches. The site occupies part of a former Second World War prisoner of war camp, likely built in 1942-43.Excavation revealed a single feature, interpreted as a backfilled modern pond.
