Multi-Sited Ethnographic Interview and Fieldnotes Dataset on Taiwanese Migration to Mainland China (2021–2025)

This dataset contains anonymised case-level metadata, pseudonyms, and key-topic summaries derived from multi-sited ethnographic research on Taiwanese professionals and younger-generation migrants in Mainland China. For each interview or observational encounter, the dataset records an anonymised case ID, a pseudonym, basic socio-demographic information, migration and work profile, and a short set of analytical key topics distilled from the original interviews and fieldnotes. No audio files, verbatim transcripts, or full narrative fieldnotes are deposited; only structured metadata, pseudonyms, and topic-level summaries are stored in this repository.The dataset contains sensitive ethnographic materials related to politically and socially vulnerable research contexts. In order to ensure the safety and confidentiality of research participants, as well as to comply with ethical commitments made during fieldwork, interview recordings and detailed transcripts are not publicly shared. Only structured metadata are made available to document the scope, methods, and empirical basis of the research.
