The Institute for Genomic Research in collabration with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories sequenced the genome of B. oleracea using the whole genome shotgun (WGS) method. The genome was sequenced to 0.44X coverage. The aim of the project was to look for sequence conservation between the Brassica and Arabidopsis genomes that will help in Arabidopsis annotation.
