Nutritional value of hooded barley (cv. Mochona) and triticale (cv. Titania) cultivated under Mediterranean conditions and preserved as hay or silage.

The aim of this work was to evaluate a new variety of hooded barley (var. Mochona) in small ruminants (Manchega and Lacaune sheep) and to compare with a commercial triticale (var. Titania). The cultivars were harvested and processed as fodder hay and as silage during two consecutive years. The fodder hay results are present in the first 6 sheets of the excel whereas the silage results are in the next 7 sheets. The results are organized by chemical composition, dry matter intake and nutritional value.

Resumen:
El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar una nueva variedad de cebada encapuchada (var. Mochona) en pequeños rumiantes (oveja Manchega y Lacaune) y compararla con un triticale comercial (var. Titania). Los cultivares fueron cosechados y procesados como heno forrajero y ensilado durante dos años consecutivos. Los resultados del heno forrajero están presentes en las primeras 6 hojas del Excel, mientras que los resultados del ensilado están en las siguientes 7 hojas. Los resultados están organizados por composición química, ingestión de materia seca y valor nutricional.
