资源简介:

The database includes the raw data of the article “Alzheimer's disease continuum: evaluating the relationship between fluid biomarkers and patients’ phenotype and profile”. The aim of this work was to measure the concentration of pTAU181, Aβ40 and Aβ42 in plasma and CSF of a cohort comprising HC, MCI non-AD, MCI-AD and AD patients. We also aimed at assessing these biomarkers’ relationship with patients’ phenotype and clinical profile. The database comprises data obtained by the following investigations: a) patients’ clinical evaluation; b) Genotype assessment of both patients and healthy controls; c) Chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay to determine both CSF and plasma levels of pTAU181, Aβ40 and Aβ42. As expected, data showed a significant increase in pTAU181 and decrease in Aβ42 concentrations and Aβ42/Aβ40 ratio specifically in the progression from MCI non-AD to AD conditions. These biomarker trends appeared to change coherently with variations in the MMSE score. Considering the phenotype, atypical patients displayed the highest pTAU181 and lowest Aβ42 levels, together with lower MMSE scores. Finally, the PCA profile showed higher pTAU181 and lower Aβ42 levels when compared to other profiles. Although further analyses and validations are needed, these results suggest a possible detectable difference between typical and atypical AD forms.
