Parhyale hawaiensis isolate:Chicago-F Genome sequencing and assembly

Parhyale hawaiensis is model system for studying developmental and regeneration biology. In addition it has biological features that could be exploited for biofuel production (the ability to break down wood as a biofuel source). For version 01, a single animal (isofemale 4) was sequenced. For version 02 of this assembly, further sequencing was performed with Dovetail Genomics in excess of 100X coverage. Dovetail's HiRise assembler was used to further assemble scaffolds from the previous version of the genome. The new sequencing data that supplements this new genome assembly came from a group of animals belonging to the Chicago-F line of animals.
