Data from "Asymmetric tropicalization undermines functional resilience in Southern European fisheries"

This repository contains the processed datasets supporting the findings of the study on the asymmetric tropicalization of fisheries in the Atlantic-Mediterranean transition zone (2010–2021). The raw fisheries landing records utilized in this study were originally sourced from the DIGIPESCA project database (https://digipesca.webs.upv.es/). DIGIPESCA is a collaborative initiative funded by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) through the NextGenerationEU funds. We acknowledge the efforts of all participating institutions in the primary collection of landing data across Spanish Autonomous Communities. The dataset provided here is a derived product specifically curated for this research. The processing pipeline included: Harmonization: Temporal unification of annual landing records from 2010 to 2021. Thermal Attribution: Assignment of Mean Temperature Preference (MTP) values to individual taxa to calculate community-level thermal indicators (MTC). Filtering: Data cleaning and standardization of more than 799,000 records.
