The impact of GnRH immunocastration on colonic microbiota and metabolites in Male Sheep

This project investigates the impact of GnRH immunocastration on colonic microbiota and metabolites in male Xizang sheep using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and LC-MS-based metabolomics. The study compares immunocastrated, surgically castrated, and intact male sheep to assess changes in microbial diversity and metabolite profiles. The raw sequencing data submitted here were generated from colonic content samples and are part of a broader effort to understand how hormonal interventions affect gut microbial composition and host metabolism in livestock. This data supports ethical and productive alternatives to surgical castration in sheep management.
