At the crossing. CR is walking around talking to the kids as they are collecting martiya (bush gum) and jangarla (tree) what to call a particular plant (they call it kajkuru but this is the word for pandanus). They find some kalnga too (red ochre). There is a lot of talk, with CS and hard Gurindji. CR spends a lot of time trying to convince the kids not to throw rocks at the fish - for fear of disturbing the rainbow serpent other fish and crocodiles.
